Nuclear Generating Stations
The Salem and Hope Creek Nuclear Generating Station in New Jersey provides safe, reliable, and carbon-free electricity to millions of homes and businesses across the region. Operated by PSEG Nuclear, the site includes the Salem Units 1 and 2 and the Hope Creek Generating Station, working together to support grid stability and energy security.
Oyster Creek
Decommissioned Generating Station
The Oyster Creek Generating Station, once a cornerstone of New Jersey’s energy infrastructure, played a significant role in providing reliable, carbon-free electricity for nearly five decades. Today, the site is focused on safe decommissioning and environmental stewardship, reflecting a continued commitment to the community and the surrounding environment.
New Jersey has operating nuclear generating stations in Salem County – the Salem and Hope Creek Generating Stations.
The Oyster Creek site, located in Ocean County is no longer operating and is in the process of being decommissioned.
There is a comprehensive program coordinated by the New Jersey Office of Emergency Management, the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection and PSEG Nuclear LLC, the operator of the Salem and Hope Creek Generating Stations to address the response to an incident at one of these plants.
